Wood Stove Clearances & Chimney Codes
Wood-fired saunas operate at high temperatures. Keeping timber walls safe requires proper clearance, heat shields, and certified triple-wall chimneys.
Minimum clearances to combustibles
Harvia and Kuuma stoves require 10 to 19 inches of clearance from timber walls. We reduce this footprint by 50% using double-wall stainless steel heat shields with a 1-inch air gap.
Triple-wall chimney systems
All wood-fired installs utilize UL-listed Class A triple-wall chimney pipes through the roof. This keeps the outer shell cool enough to prevent ignition of pine rafters and rubber roof boots.
