How to Conduct a Sauna Site Survey
Before ordering an outdoor sauna, you must complete a site survey. This guide covers measuring slope, checking utility proximity, and planning the delivery truck path.
Measuring slope and drainage
Your foundation pad must be level. Use a line level or transit to measure slope. Ensure your gravel pad or concrete piers drain away from the sauna structure to prevent pooling.
Trenching distance to the main electrical panel
Measure the distance from your main panel to the sauna pad. Long runs (over 100 feet) suffer from voltage drop, requiring heavier gauge copper wire to ensure the heater runs at full capacity.
